Leaked Asus Z390 Motherboard Pics Show DC DIMM Support

VideoCardz revealed in a leak yesterday images of a few motherboards from Asus' upcoming Z390 lineup. The major discovery was that the Maximus XI Extreme and Gene models from the brand's Republic of Gamers (ROG) family will come with support for DC (double capacity) DIMMs.

Goes along with the double capacity dimm reports we've seen.

Holy moly that is a tall module. Just about anyone with a large tower cooler will most likely run into clearance issues with those. Even my average sized Noctua Nh-U12S runs into the first RAM module with a heatsink on it.

Pics in the memory thread don't seem to show other modules being that much taller.

But yeah, you'd have to consider it.

I just checked that post out, and while not as tall as this module, I doubt it would work with my cooler. I had to move my fan up quite a bit on my cooler to clear the RAM I have now, so even the modules shown in the other thread wouldn't work.
