AMD?s dual-core Opteron chips. Once they transfer these chips to s939 it should be kick ass.

Probably add 1-2 months for single core and 3-4 for dual, when the start up 939 dual cores.

Acording to this roadmap Dual Core is still another year away(Q1 '06), I believe it was orginaly scheduled for Q3 or Q4 of this year.

That makes it sound like AMD is at a disadvantage, or that they are somehow inferior for reaching the 3 Ghz mark so late. What they should mention is how AMD chips @ 3 Ghz, will be faster than a Pentium IV @ 4.5 Ghz.

3.0 is about a 5000+ rating against the P4 with 1 mb cache.

Where are the 5.0 ghz Prescots? lol

It will be most likely faster than a P4 4.5 ghz.

Intel Has decided NOT to produce 4GHZ chips, because the faster they get the lower the performance return intel or the user gets back. we are now at the point where slower clocked P4's are out pacing faster p4's. Higher GHZ pentiums wont exist in their current architerure.

Intel must have really miscalculated when they said the P4 was gonna run at 10 ghz someday...lol
