It's a fun (and addicting, lol) game with a monstrous learning curve.

If you love being a tank that turns the tide of an entire game with a decisive move, try Amumu. His ultimate is an AoE that stuns and damages. Also, his regular moves are all about damage to an entire team. His Q is a skillshot that pulls him to an opponent, stunning them. His W is a toggled AoE DoT, and his Q is a click burst of AoE damage that gets cooldown reduction for every time Amumu is hurt.

Also, his passive is that his auto attacks reduce enemy magic resistance :p

Here are some good sites for champion build guides and other info.

Never tried LoL but I'm playing Dota2 right now and it is a ton of fun, I'm guessing both are the same game.

Same genre, but thats where the similarities end. Games are totally different.

I played all three, and my fav order is dota2 > hon > lol

Leona is fun, but the game itself is pretty tiresome. I find myself only playing it because my friends do and I will never quite understand the appeal. Most of the champions are really shallow on their own and I think 'farming' is a poor excuse for gameplay to make up for it.

Personally I'd recommend Bloodline Champions but it seems a lot of players are addicted to 'micro progress' which it doesn't really provide.

+1 for Amumu! He is a total wrecking machine in the right hands.

i have played it for 2 years more or less, i think i was able to let it go like 3 months ago (when swtor was released, but now i also stopped playing swtor...so i can say im... free?)

havent played dota2, its the same genre.

LoL, for me, was a HUGE improvement over Original Dota in gameplay quality.
Nicer Graphics, better shop system, more balanced (in dota, when i was playing at least, mages damage didnt scale with anything but a weapon that increased most of the mage skills like 20%, thats it), clearer minimap (in dota those blue or purple dots were hard to see instead of the chracter icon in LoL)

for all those things i got addicted into LoL and not into Dota, i think dota 2 solved most of those issues, but LoL is still a great game

for me i think its LOL = Dota 2 > Dota 1

as i said didnt play dota 2, will try it for sure when its released, but playing LoL is so easy (i dont meaning in skills, but in things that make life easier) that makes me really like it

Before I played DOTA2, I actually caught a game on youtube and it looked very intriguing.

As Humble said before, purely for talking about League there's a huge thread already up in this section. That aside since people are comparing moba/arts games here, my order:
Old HoN > DotA 2 > LoL > Current HoN
I really liked the old HoN from like a year+ ago, sure the game had some pretty significant balancing issues but the engine felt snappy and responsive, all skins could be attained through just playing (though you still had to buy the game back then, totally worth it imo) and the gameplay was essentially porting a lot of the good from DotA while cutting out what they thought was a lot of the bad parts. I personally just loved the aesthetics and the responsiveness of the game, combining the strong points of LoL and DotA. However they couldn't compete with LoL due to a more forgiving learning curve and tutorials but most importantly that LoL started out F2P.

As it stands I really like the progress of DotA 2 with the only downside being that the game itself feels slow despite playing out at roughly the same speed as HoN/LoL, just the way its animated makes it feel unresponsive to me.

Also I dislike both HoN and LoL for the rate at which they pump out new heroes, and DotA 2 for how slowly its porting the DotA pool.

To be honest, I'm sick and tired of playing the same two maps.

Holy shit, some variety in the environments would be nice.

Depressed me that HoN never lived up to its promise of allowing map creation for people to play with. And all the moba/arts games seem to have this problem of maps due to how everyone is balanced relative to the rest of the pool. For instance some heroes in 3v3 in LoL are much more potent there than they are in 5v5 so just removing or adding 1 player on each side can make a pretty significant impact.

That being said I don't see why they don't pump out more 5v5 maps, Riot's been harping about the Magma Chamber (iirc) for a loooooong time now and it still hasn't delivered on the promise. I'm pretty sure there was even a Riot post on several occasions that spoke to it being released with Season 2 and I have yet to see this map.

Also the environment being a bit more dynamic is why I enjoy HoN/DotA's map to LoL's as as you utilize the tree lines for a lot of cool stuff like juking or truly unexpected ganks.
