League of Legends glitches with ATI cards

My friends keep complaining about glitches with their radeon cards while playing league. One has a 7850 and the other a 6870. Has anyone else had this issue with league? I'm a little apprehensive about buying a radeon card for this reason. I'm currently using an old 8800gts and having no problems. Thanks for your time and responses.
 
1) Can you be more descriptive of these "glitches"? What exactly do they look like?

2) Are your friends using the latest 13.3 beta driver, or are they using 13.1? If they're using 13.1, then that might be the problem. Catalyst 13.1 is notorious for causing texture-flickering and artifacts in some DirectX 9.0c games. LoL is presumably DX9. Tell your friends to upgrade to the latest beta drivers and see if the problem goes away.

I was just trying to gauge if there were many people that were having problems with this specific game and brand of card. Not a card in particular. It would explain a lot if the issue were to do with some driver problems. Thanks for the reply.

It might seem like I'm passing the buck here but I haven't played LoL in forever and I probably played less than 20 matches in the end 🙂

And we have this large League of Legends dedicated thread. Searching through the last few months of posts and/or posting your questions and concerns on that thread might yield a quicker and more suitable response.

On a radeon 5850 here, had no issues at all. Using 13.1 drivers.

Have a google around and see if its a common problem and as Elcs said check the LoL thread we got going :thumbsup:
 
I have a 7850 and a couple of patches ago there was a pretty noticeable graphical glitch. It caused a giant version of the team health/mana bars to flash on the screen for a second or two. However it was fixed with a driver update. I still occasionally have screen flickering but it's not that common. At most once a game, if even that.
