I suspect some of the griefing is occuring because ranked games are disabled. People are going into normal games as they can't play ranked, and they don't really care if they win or not since no rating is involved.
Malak, I have seen several Riven, they don't seem nearly OP to me. Good escape and toughness but with the standard melee champion weakness of being poor at early game harass and needing to be in the danger zone to do any damage in a team fight. I just bought her myself, but I've only had time to test her in a bot game. Lots of fun to play, and I totally dominated the bots, which doesn't say much. Feels like a more fun variation of Garen. Not OP like Lee Sin, but easier to play.
I've been playing a lot of fiddle lately, his fear and silence seem so strong at shutting down annoying escapy champions. I almost play him as a support, as I max out fear first after 2 points in drain and 1 in dark wind, and focus on move speed and survival before damage. Jungling preferably.
If not fiddle, I also have been playing twitch a lot. Did some duo queue with my brother, going bot lane with twitch and him on talon. Seem to be guaranteed lane domination, twitch opening from stealth and talon blinking in with silence and his burst damage was hard for anyone to survive.
