I'm about to buy a new video card to replace my TNT2 card. I can't decide whether to get the Leadtek Geforce 2 Pro 32MB for $133, or the Radeon LE for $73 Which one will give the better graphics and speed?

the gf2 pro will outperform the radeon.

other things to consider are

- win2k/win xp. unless things have changed, radeon just doesn't work as well
- 2d quality. radeon has excellent 2d quality. with gf2, about 1024x768 your mileage will vary depending on the manufacturer. elsa is fine, but I dunno bout leadtek.
- gainward makes a 64mb gf2 pro (CARDEXPERT V87 Geforce2 PRO/450 4.5ns GPU, 64mb 128bit DDR, with TV out) you can find for under $150. dunno bout the 2d qual (I asked on this forum and rec'd no response), but with 4.5ns ram, it's basically an ultra for $150. the extra 32mb ram would make it worth the extra $15-20 by itself...

Thanks for the info. Where can I find the CARDEXPERT V87 Geforce2 PRO? Also, would a see a difference in the extra 32MB?

take look at pricewatch.com. there are 3 (CARDEXPERT V87 Geforce2 PRO/450 4.5ns GPU, 64mb 128bit DDR, with TV out) listed for under $160. I went ahead and ordered one from newta.com ($147) - will have to see how they do.. guess I'll know in a few days :)

as for the extra memory, you will probably only notice a difference in higher resolutions (from both quantity and quality of the vram), but it depends on whether you are cpu limited or gpu limited.

I probably would've gotten the le (it is half the price afterall), but I have a radeon 32ddr and just do not like it under win2k/xp.
