I am using my Leadtek Winfast 2000XP Deluxe as a PVR device, and it works much better than VCR tapes, except for one minor (well, major) problem. Whenver I record on channel 10, I not only hear the TV audio, I also hear the SAP (Secondary Audio Profile) audio coming thru the right speaker. This happens whenever I record on channel 10...scheduled or time-shifting.
I do not hear the SAP audio in normal, TV watching mode on channel 10 (unless the application launches and is on channel 10, then I hear it immediately, but can get rid of it by going up one channel, then back down to channel 10), but as soon as I hit the RECORD (time-shifting) button, the SAP audio immediately kicks in with the TV audio. I called the cable company and that's how I found out it was the SAP audio....all I knew before then was that it was an emergency weather broadcast.
Anyway, I have tried setting the audio recording settings to 'Mono' and/or 'Stereo', and I still get the SAP audio. No amount of tweaking will filter out the SAP audio. I cannot find any other Mono/Stereo/SAP settings for the time-shifting function, but that is not really my concern, as all of my recording is scheduled.
I can't use Dscaler because I am using this as a PVR and need the remote control functionality.
Is this a faulty card, in that SAP is not successfully filtered out during recording? OR
Is there a registry tweak or something that can rid me of this horrible annoyance (that forces me to revert to VCR tapes when recording shows on channel 10)?
I have tried contacting Leadtek, but they never reply.
