Leadtek TV2000 XP Expert capture card

Anyone else have this card? It captures video fine, yet when I go and try to watch what I've captured I get no sound. I've tried different settings within the software and still nothing. Suggestions?

are you using a RCA to miniplug converter?

No. I've got my TV coax cable going into the capture card, then an audio cable going from the capture card to my on board sound card (same kind of cable that goes from an optical drive to your sound card).

I get sound when watching live TV, but it doesn't record any sound...

do your audio setting look something like this

Exactly the same (except mine shows my AC'97 as my audio device).

Still no sound. Do I need to plug something else into my sound card or something ?!? It didn't come with any other cables...

yes, the output from the Expert should be plugged into one of the line-in's of the onboard sound. (There should be a 4 holed cable that does this)

(I have my Expert plugged into my analog mix line on my Audigy)

edit: do you get sound when you just watch and not capture???

Yes I get sound while watching, but not when capturing.

Are you talking about that little gray cable that goes from the capture card to the on board sound card (like, inside the case)? I already have that hooked up...

I have this card and the first time I used it I encountered the same issue. Solution, use the little gray cable like you are connected to the mobo but the key is the setting in the Winfast software. If you are using the CD IN jack on the mobo, change it to that in Winfast. If you have it in the AUX...

More than likely it's one of those two, Line In is on the I/O backplane. I change both drop down boxes to be the same, master stream to Video (don't ask me why though), Record Volume use the default of 30 so you don't get distortion.

Bah, got it!

I didn't have an option for "AUX" like Leadtek support told me to set it to but if I set my "Audio Recording Line" to "Stereo Mix" or "Mono Mix" it captures the sound.

Thanks for all of the replies!
