Ok i got it working now but i have found out that there isn't enough buttons on the remote to work all the programs i would like to control so i was wondering if you guys know what the remote code is so i can use a universal remote through my wintv 2000xp ir sensor.

If you're using girder you should be able to use most any code that your IR sensor can distinguish consistantly.

Assuming you have a driver for girder that works with your IR sensor, then all you need to do is set the universal remote up to command the certain aspects of the windows of the programs you want to control.

You will be bypassing the built in IR codes through girder to do the same things plus more.

I keep trying but i can't get it to recognize the codes it recognized on about 50% of the time but only the power button. my universal remote is a zenith and it has a 3 digit code input.

I'm not familiar with the Zenith in particular, but are there other buttons? Such as one for VCR, Aux, etc.?

If not that's fine, but if so there are much more buttons and therefore codes.

Basically, you have to keep trying to find the IR signals than will keep showing up the same to your IR reader. So take the list of 3 digit codes and try them till you find one that works with all the buttons.

On my universal remote, I found that the IR codes for the VCRs worked the best. Also my controler has TV, VCR, Cable, and Aux modes. I programed all these buttons for the same listing of codes (VCR) and then found unique codes for each button.

Hope this helps.
