Leadtek tv 2000 xp deluxe capture problem

I have the aforementioned card installed on my computer. It works fine for the most part; but when i try to capture videos, it starts acting weird. If I capture in VCD mode, then its fine but any other capture format (Mpeg 1, mpeg 2, DVD ect...) will cause the video file to be corupted. When I try to play back a video that was captured in mpeg2, windows media player will say something about an incorect codec and try to download a new one. But it is unsuccessful, and then the video will start playing. If I try to open the video file with any other software (Virtual Dub, Gordian Knot...) then it will say that the file is corrupted and it will not open. How do I fix this?
