I have this Leadtek 4400 board, which has been having a problem with one of its two fans on the main heatsync. It squeals, and is not turning properly. IE not cooling properly. So, ever so infrequently the video card will lock-up in 3D games. So, I decide, because the card is still under warranty, to contact Leadtek to get them to replace the fan / card or whatever level they want to take it.
They send me back a link to a 3rd party heatsync/fan solution for the GF4, and say I should by one of those to replace mine. Because they no longer make the fans in question.
first... why do i want to spend my money on a product that is still under warranty, why would i do this...
second, if I'm replacing the HS/Fan combo on this board, would i not be VOID the warranty to do so? So, why would i want to do this?
Anyway, I shot an Email back to them, and It will probably be Monday before I hear back again, but what a great idea just dump it all back in the customers lap
Great RMA Leadtek
