Hey guys,
I sort of have a problem with my ram and motherboard. I was using 2X256mb sticks of pc2700 ram. One was a Samsung and one was a Kingston Valueram. Well I just purchased a third stick of Kingston value ram, but it is 512mb. For some reason, I believe that the Dual Channel feature is causing my system to freeze because its trying to enable dual channel through all three slots. I notice that the computer doesnt freeze with just one stick or ram or with two rams of the same specs and size. Unfortunately, there isnt any way in the bios that I know of to disable dual channel manually. Can you guys help me out here? I'm not real sure if the problem is with the dual channel but all three sticks or ram have been tested and they do not seem to be faulty. I used memtest on each on separately. My specs are:
Leadtek K7ncr18d pro first rev. I believe
Athlon XP 2100
512mb pc2700(as of now)
Geforce FX 5600 ultra
Windows XP SP1
Thanks for the help!
