Leadtek A6600GT Problems

Hi,

I posted a motherboard problem relating to this card here:

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...?catid=29&threadid=1834544&STARTPAGE=1

But as I'm now conerned it's a graphics card problem I thought I'd drop a post here to describe it.

All the previous problems are described in the above post. Basically a MSI 746F Ultra was locking on post screen. CMOS clear let it get into Windows (AGP x8 seemed to be problem as when it was set back it locks again and CMOS needs cleared again).

So get it into Windows on AGPx4 and it was reseting on games. PSU was 550W Q-Tec which I learned was 550W Peak not max, and max amps on 12v was actually 14 not 20 :-

So replaced with 480W Hiper and games seemed to be running ok. Installed Far Cry and turned the details up and after short period of play it locked with red pixels all over the screen.

Any advice appreciated and any more info required let me know.
Thanks

ok guys.

What is going on. Upon rebooting DOS was kinda messed up, so I thought has to be the card, and it started locking on the post again. Removed the card and put the FX5200 back in, the pixel corruption was still there !?!

Please someone tell me how this pixel corruption has appeared on 2 different graphic cards? Could a damaged AGP slot do this ?
