The LEADTEK 7350KDA has alittle old SiS chipset like the ecs board. Unlink this one seems to have better overclocking options and more things to change in bios. So anyone w/ this board pls reply w/ some good and bad about this board if you have it. I think the reviews for this board come from 2001 to old for me. So anyone w./ it now have anything good to say about it?

I just recently built a system using this board. Overall I like the board but there are some issues that I had with it.

1) I had problems flashing the bios through a floppy drive. It would just freeze before updating. However, I was able to update the bios by flashing it from a CDRW. This problem is mentioned in the FAQ on Leadtek's website.

2) It seems to be very picky about RAM modules. It was not stable using 256 meg PNY (Samsung chips) PC2100 sticks at PC2100 speeds. I couldn't install WinXP on it (kept bluescreening). I had to lower the memory speed to PC1600 (by using a FSB/memory ratio of 133/100) in order for WinXP to install. These PNY sticks work flawlessly on my KT400 board at PC2100 speeds with no problems. I later bought some 512 meg Dane-Elec (using Nanya chips) PC2100 sticks from NewEgg.com and they work great on the Leaktek.

3) If the Dazzle DVC-II Mpeg-2 encoder card is plugged into any PCI slot, the 2nd IDE port disappears from the bios! This also happens with my ECS K7S5A so I think it is a SIS 735 chipset problem.

Other than that, I've been real happy with it. I haven't tried overclocking though -- I'm not an overclocker.

ITs slower than the VIA but its still fast!! And it works but i think the floppy connector on board is broke but i can fix that w/ a PCI FDD card right, if they make them.

I'm using an Antec SmartPower 300 Watt power supply that came with my Antec SLK2600AMB case.

I've never seen a PCI floppy card. You can get a USB external floppy though. Why do you think your floppy is broken? There's something weird with my floppy -- it can't flash the bios but it seems okay for other stuff. I heard other people having the same problem so I think it's a design problem with the board.

How do you like it? I'm still learning and getting a feel for the board but overall I like it.

Why did you swap your old motherboard (Via chipset) for the Leadtek (SIS chipset)? Just curious....

When I got my board, I did some searching and found this very helpful post. The posts about the BIOS are old now and the newer BIOS has fixed the memory problems.

www.amdmb.com - forums

This tells you how to install XP on this board and have ACPI enabled, what PCI slots are shared with what on-board hardware, and more......very good info to have when setting up.

This board is not a good overclocker for me. It has a lot of settings to overclock but I do not think the SIS chipset will take it. I have my board o/c from 133fsb to 138fsb. I have only changed the fsb settings so I may be able to get more out of it with voltage and memory tweaking. The great thing about this board is it is rock solid stable. Nothing like the VIA board it replaced. I would rather have a stable motherboard then a fast one that locks up, but thats my choice. :)

I'm using my Leadtek 7350KDA with an Antec Solution Series case and I had trouble with the USB connections to the front port. The Leadtek only has one 5 volt pin so I was only able to connect only one of the USB port on the front of my case.

I'm looking at the Leadtek manual right now and it shows the pins as:

Pin 1 GND
Pin 2 +5V
Pin 3 GND
Pin 4 DATA 0-
Pin 5 GND
Pin 6 DATA 0+
Pin 7 GND
Pin 8 DATA 1-
Pin 9 GND
Pin 10 DATA 1+
Pin 11 GND
Pin 12 Not Connected

What does the cable from the USB ports on your case look like? Is it one big block? Or is it a bunch of separate little connectors?

all little connectors, and ty for the info above. Umm my case connectors say stuff like +5vsb or -5vsv not data -1 ect so im lost. My case is Chenming ATX-301KB-A-0 Aluminum Mini-Tower Case Black **No Power Supply**

Your case looks a lot like my Antec SLK2600 Solutions Series

ANTEC SOLUTION SERIES Model# SLK2600AMB

It can be confusing when they label the connectors differently. On my case, they label them as 1+D, 1-D, 2+D, 2-D etc.

The key is to know that each USB port needs a Power and Ground connector. These are usually labeled like VCC, Power, +5V, GND or something. Each USB port also needs two data connector -- one is plus and the other is minus.

So, for the 1st USB port, you will want to connect to the following on the Leadtek:

Pin 1 GND (any ground will do)
Pin 2 +5V (this is the power pin)
Pin 4 DATA 0-
Pin 6 DATA 0+

For the 2nd USB port you need to connect to the following on the Leadtek:

Pin 2 +5V (this is the power pin)
Pin 3 GND (any ground will do)
Pin 8 DATA 1-
Pin 10 DATA 1+

The problem with the Leadtek is that it only supplies one +5V pin so I can only connect to one USB port on the front.

If your case connectors have something like +5xxx and -5xxx then it kind of looks like they might be the data pins. Do you also have something like Power, VCC and GND or something?
