Leadtek 6800GT problem?

I have a 6800GT from Leadtek and I have just used 3dmark03 to see what the results would be. I was expecting somewhat similar results to most people with a 6800GT, but I understand my card is not overclocked. I only scored a 8080ish score and this seems extremely low for this card. The load temperatures are barely breaking 90C as it is so I do not know why it would score lower. For reference I can play Doom3 with high settings at 1280X1024 without a problem (very smooth), ultra settings make the screen tear a bit but otherwise it doesn't look that bad. My question is if there is a problem with my card or if there is a limiting factor in the rest of my computer. I am running a 3500+ Venice CPU on Epox NForce4 Ultra mobo and 1gig corsair value RAM. The core slowdown threshhold is reported to be 135C on my display drivers so I am not worried about overheating, but why is it at such a high temperature when the benchmarks are far below what others are getting?

I am wondering if maybe I am supposed to be able to play Doom3 at ultra settings without a problem. I just want to make sure that there isn't anything wrong with my card because it runs extremely hot and got low benchmark scores. I wanted to overclock it, but it worries me about voiding the warranty because something else unrelated could always ruin the card.

You could improve on your 3dmark03. Upgrade drivers to 77.77 and see.
The temps are fine but you could do better unless its hot where you live. Case ventilation is important because the fan on the Leadtek is wimpy.

With your CPU / memory you should be getting in the mid-10000's without any overclocking. Your temps are high too. You should not be going over 75°C when running 3D Mark 03 if your ambient room temp. is around 25°C. Grab the latest drivers ( or > 77.50 ). Use DriverCleaner after uninstalling the current drivers before installing the new ones. I have a Leadtek A400GT in a P4c 3.2 GHz w/ 1 GB 2-2-2-5 RAM and scored 10,692 w/ 71.20 drivers.

One thing you COULD try is get RivaTuner and set it to record a log of the GPU activity while running the benchmark. You can view the log and look for spikes in the clocks that might indicate throttling.

Here is my ORB link so you can look and compare to yours.

You should be able to find both of the apps. I mentioned here.

Yea, I DLed the 77.77 drivers and my 3dmark03 score went up to 11400. This is strange, but I'm not complaining. One possibility that I have is that my C: and D: are kind of mixed up. I partitioned my HD to have a 13GB side for windows and everything else to go on the other drive. However I might have installed the drivers to the other partition and maybe there was a conflict with the drivers not being on the drive that had windows installed. Anyway, I have this 50% solved. I kind of want to get a vf700 for my card, but don't want to void any warranties. The same goes for me and overclocking. I have the desire to do it, but can't void the warranties.
