Leadtek 6800GT loud fan

I want to make my Leadtek 6800GT fan to be more noiseless but I dont know how. I can flash the bios with a new one who can do that? And from where I can get it?
Or I can use some software? Because the winfox dont want do modify the fan speed.

How loud is loud?


The fan on my Leadtek 6800GT is WAY quieter than the fan on my old ASUS GF4 4600 and my Gigabyte 5900XT. Can't be heard in windows at all and can hardly be heard when rebooting the system.

You might want to contact Leadtek for a replacement fan if it is noisy enough to bother you - You should be barely able to hear it.

YOu probably want look into a new heatsink and fan from zalman, their fans are very quiet. Although, if noise bothers you, you should have known that leadtek cards generally have louder fans that other brands.

errr, Leadtek market their GF 6800GT as being low noise (<30 db) compared to a typical 38 db for other GT's.

In my experience, it's an accurate claim too, but, sometimes cards may get shipped with faulty fans.

The only time I can hear my Leadtek GF 6800GT is during boot-up. Its bloody noisy at that point, heard over everything else. However, once windows boots, I can't hear it anymore. In fact, I can hear my harddrive read/write more than I can hear the Leadtek GF6800GT.

I think most likely, your fan is acting up. So you might have to get a Zalman, or if it's still under warranty (which it should be), RMA it.

I always end up getting dodgy fans. My leadtek is loudish. Instead of one continous hum it revs up and down which gets on my nerves. I have a zalman here though i think im gonna replace it with this.
