This is my current system running on an antec 400w power supply

Gigabyte k8 triton motherboard
AMD 64 3000+
2 sticks of DDR 512mb 3200
Audigy sound card
Geforce 6600 leadtek 6600 128mb DDR
ATI TV ve
1 maxtor 120 gig hard drive
1 Westerin digital 160 gig hard drive
1 DVD R +/- lite on drive

currently have fast wipes disabled ram agp set to 512mb.

It just froze up with a strange noise through the speakers. I took out the sound card and used onboard sound samething happened. Took out the western digital hardrive samething happened took out the maxtor installed windows to westeran digital samething happens. Only happens when playing a game. Anything else I can do? I've set the hardware accelration anywer from basic to normal and has happened. Right now got it at normal and was able to play pirates for 30 minutes wtih no problems but not sure if the problem is gone. Video card temp isnt no where near the extremes. Any help is appreciated. I've moved around the cards in the PCI slots only thing that seemed to work was seting it from agp 8 to 4 . I could try and under clock it gotta install thier software or cool bits but i dunno.

What drivers are you using? Are you overclocking anything?

Did you update DirectX?

Try a fresh format without the ATI TV wonder, sometimes (most of the time) ATi and NV drivers dont play well.

I'd be willing to be it's a driver conflict between your ATi and nVidia drivers. My suggestion is getting a new TV tuner card. I got one from LeadTek a while ago and it played well with my GeForce 4 Ti 4800SE. Mixing companys like that is a dangerous proposition, seems you got the short end of the stick this time.

uninstalling the card wont fix it. Im not sure if the TV wonder is supported in driver cleaner, you may have to format on this one to find out.

I am using an ATI E-Home Wonder and a 6600GT in my HTPC. The two cards seem to be playing nicely in mine.
