LDT x HTT

I currently have an A8N32-SLI Deluxe and am wondering where my LDT multiplier is in my BIOS options. I've scrolled through them, and cannot find it.

I've never actually looked for it, but i'm overclocking my FSB above 200 and i heard the LDT is default at 5, and i need to lower it to 4. But, i cannot find the option anywhere. I also went through all the options to see if one had a multiplier anyways, i couldnt find anything.

I know this is probably a hard question to answer with the vague info, but i was hoping someone else might have this board and has spotted it before.

Thanks!

it sounds to me like you want the HTT multiplier, never heard of the LDT before. It will be in the same place where you set the cpu and ram voltages and FSB and all the other cpu settings.

asus puts it, on your board and mine, at the very first page of the "Advanced" tab called "Hyper Transport Frequency" page 4-20 of your manual 🙂

navigate to "Hyper Transport Frequency", hit enter and then change it to what you want

Yeah, the Advanced page is where i thought it should be, the HTT multiplier. But there is nothing listed as such in any of the advanced pages. The page containing cpu volts, fsb, etc. does not have anything listed as Hyper Transport Frequency.

I also got out my asus manual too, there is nothing listed like that in it.

according to the manual for that m/b this is what the advanced page looks like. it is right under "DRAM Configuration"

it is not by the V or FSB, it on this very first page, at least according to this manual

Under Advanced Chip Settings, i have a NB to SB Frequency setting that has a 5x multiplier, and then under Advanced System config settings, under my FSB i have a NB to SB OverClock setting that is set at Auto. At manual, its default is 200.

I'm going to assume thats my HTT multipliers?

I'll look again, but i have the manual sitting in my lap.

EDIT: This may be what is causing the confusion, but i made a typo. Its an A8N32-SLI Deluxe.

I apologize.

EDIT: I think the above combined is my HyperTransport Frequency.

Anyhow, i downloaded CPUZ and looked under Clocks and it says my HT Link is 734.0 MHz. Is it better to have it closer to 1000mhz or at 1000hmz?

i have read that anything over 700 is good but don't go over 1000. to be honest, i can't remember what the performance implications were exactly but i remember there were not much. i would probably do 4 then you could go up to a 250FSB and not worry about it.

Some boards have it labeled as 1000 mhz, 800 mhz, 600 mhz, etc. 1000mhz=5x, 800mhz=4x, etc.

Just set it to 3x or 600mhz and be happy.
