lCheap Laptop possibilities?

I need help. I really want a lap top but I can't really afford anything over $100.

So I have set out to find any way to get a fairly good Lap top (ie: 1ghz/256/20gig/NIC...etc ) for relatively cheap.

First I was thinking about trying to build one piece by piece, but after talking to some friends I was told not to waste my time.

So then I figured I would look for those deals on sites like ezlaptop.com where you pay like $5 and then you have to read a bunch of emails and adds and junk to earn a certain number of credits in which to get your lap top.. But then I did some research and found out that a lot of those deals are risky scams (of course).

So then I figured that I would come here and ask you guys if anyone knows if there is anyway possible to get a laptop for cheap... Like perhapse some kind of deal where I have to do work to earn it, but is for sure not a scam. Im willing to do anything if it will for sure get me a lap top.

I dont know... Sorry if this post is silly.

Any help is totally appreciated.

Getting that kind of laptop for $100, is basically impossible, unless you get really really really lucky on ebay.
Usually those can be had on ebay for around $400-$500. Any deal that lets you get one by 'working for it' is usually a scam.
better yet, just get a real job and 'work for it' there, and get paid, and go out and buy one for $400-500.

Well I was just wondering if there were any possibilities out there that anyone knew of..

im a poor college kid.. and i have 2 jobs.. not much money.. just want lap top!

You could do the freeipods(dot)com thing and mp3players4free(dot)com thing and sell the one iPod and get a check for $275 from the second site. This would give you about $550ish and you could get a laptop then. If you want more info IM me (my aim is the same name as on here)... or email me cjb266(at)psu(dot)edu. I have a bunch of friends who have done it and it definitely works. Especially if you are one of the few people in your dorm that know about it origionally... then you can definitely get it done!

I dont know.. it looks to involving. I have to sign up for offers and give them my address and junk... I cant put a false one, else the freeipods'com will know.. Plus I have to get 5 friends to buy an ipod.. I dont even have 5 friends.

why were you doing that (dot)com and (at) stuff?
