Well, my old monitor got permenantly stuck in a trapizoid type shape and a few hours later just went blank. Considering it was 3 years old and that's how long my warrenty was I decided it was a good time to get a new monitor. I decided to spend about 800 on it, but after having problems shifting my money into an account I could easily use I ended up with a budget of 450. I ended up buying a Samsung 712N (395 including tax and a 50$ rebate) from office depot (BB had it for the same price but were oos) and am very impressed with it. I don't see any ghosting; the picture looks great to me, black looks black enough for me, and no dead pixels, which I greatly feared. Basicly all the thing that people say are bad about LCDs I don't notice and now my keyboard doesn't partially hang off my desk.
