i just got an LCD today, the Viewsonic VG800, and man, this thing is badass. i never thought i would actually get excited about a piece of computer hardware, but man i could look at this thing even if the computer was off, haha.

anyone else ever felt this way about their LCD? im sure it will wear off in a week, but right now it ownz j00

well no... i'm sure that she just doesn't want me to spend so much especially since i'm still a student and i don't have a constant income yet. but it would be really nice to have one.

Yes, LCDs are awesome. I'm going on nearly 3 weeks with my Planar PL191M-BK - and it still ownz. The best part is that I can feel confident that I'm no longer being "radiated" by a CRT.

Like any other computer product, you could wait for the "next best thing." First, you'll wait on the better LCD monitors, then you'll wait on the 4 GHz CPUs, then you'll wait on the 500 GB hard drives, etc., yadda, yadda, yadda. The point is, purchase what you can at the current moment - and enjoy it. The prices for the "next best thing" LCDs haven't been posted yet, so we don't know what they'll cost. In any event, if these new LCDs are truly as good as the hype has been - and the price is attractive, then, there's always E-Bay for selling off our old gear - at a good price.

I am very happy with my Cornea Systems 18.1" Of course I got it for free so that makes it even better.
