LCD's and resolutions

I have been told that lcd's being run out of the native resolutions dont look as good is this true from those that have seen them of course?

yes. the image looks MUCH better at an LCD's native res.

Not necessarily... try running a game at 800x600 on a panel wih 1600x1200 native res..... its like getting free AA(antialiasing)

but, that being the exception, lower resolutions scaled up look "soft" at best, grainy and blocky at worst.

If you had a decent video card that could run your games in the panels native resolution you would be fine
