LCD Widescreen video card

I want to purchase a 19" widescreen LCD for my wife.
Have a few 1g machines around house, but she only uses
this for MS Outlook, solitare etc...(right!)

anyway, the 2 year old video card in her machine,
Intel does not appear to display a resolution of
say 1440 x 900 or whatever the recommendations for
the newer LCD displays are.
1. IF I need to purchase new video card, recommend
something inexexpensive.
2. I would need to run this analog I am assuming right?

thanks

My friend's four (now five) year old Dell runs a 1440x900 LCD off integrated Intel analog just fine. All he needed was an updated video driver, in his case I had him get it from Windows Update just to keep it simple for him.

If your current monitor doesn't support a given resolution, it will not be displayed as an option in windows but that doesn't mean it is not a supported resolution if a different monitor is attached.
