For certain LCD monitors, under specification i've seen "WALL MOUNT: VESA® VESA 100mm ." Does this mean that you can take off the base of the monitor, and mount the monitor to the wall? How does this work? Thanks.

Yes. Specifically, it means that the lcd complies with the form factor that VESA set out and it's mounting bolt separation distance is 100mm. You just need to buy a wal mounting kit from some accessories company. I can't think of any off the top of my head but I'm sure a serch will turn somehting up. Also, you can use LCD arms.

I guess if you're a do-it-yourselfer, you don't really need to buy a kit. You could just mount some drywall anchors on the wall and make some sort of mounting plate yourself.
