I wouldn't see why. My CRT works fine with a high refresh rate. Either way you are viewing small text on a monitor, and that puts strain on your eyes.

LCDs do not emit EMF radiation so I'd say yes.

..lcd has near perfect center to edge focus,linearity,color convergence,better edge sharpness and no particle emissions to possibly slow cook your eyes. CRT's no matter what the refresh rate make me sleepy.
