LCD TVs with built in HD tuner

Hi all I am considering of buying either a samsung 32 or 37 inch ldc tv that has a built in HD tuner.

Is there a reason why I should or shouldnt get tvs with built in HD tuners?

Are external tuners better?

If you have cable or sat. you don't need a tuner. If you want OTA signals you need a tuner. I thought tvs had tuners and monitors did not???

If you are looking at new, all "HDTVs" must have a tuner. If it doesn't have a tuner, it must be called a 'monitor'

So go ahead and get one with a tuner as they will probably be better than an external tuner. Even if you have cable / satellite, it is always good to have a free HD backup (even if just the locals) when the service goes out.

Yes having that ability to get ota digital is a plus!
If I remember, LG has or had one that even had its own hard drive for recording
ota.
