LCD TV Configuration Questions:

After haggling with a 32" D5U Sharp AQUOS for a while, I've managed to get the LCD TV to recognize at 1080i (1368x768).

I have two questions. One, the D5U model does not have a DVI input, so I am using a DVI cable from my 7800GTX -> DVI-HDMI Adapter -> LCD TV via HDMI. What would the difference between using the DVI-HDMI Adapter be compared to say a LCD TV with a natural DVI input? (I was under the assumption they are both identical digital formats, correct me if I am wrong please).

Second question, once I finally force the nVidia control panel to let me use the 1368x768 resolution, it still cuts off a small portion of the top and bottom of the LCD TV screen, as well as making it slightly blurry. Are these due to the conversion from DVI to HDMI? Or am I simply missing some proper configuration setting.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm pretty new at this and just trying to get the best picture out of what I have. =)

That's not 1080i, it's 720P (1280x720 is technically). I use DVi->HDMI cable and tell my tv "DVI" input and it works perfectly, if I tell it HDMI is gets shifted and smooshed. There must be a setting to let it know you are using a DVI signal. My TV can do 1920x1080, 1368x768, 1280x720 along with other non-16x9, they all look good and fit the screen perfectly. Non-native resolutions are bit fuzzy though with text, like all LCDs.

Hm, the AQUOS has no such setting to tell it what type of input to recognize. What are my options? Is it possible I can change the resolution, or utilize Overscan?
