HI
Just a dumb question.
Can a lcd tv be used as a monitor for a pc?
My daughter has a 32 inch Toshiba that is used only for games.
The TV is connected to a Wii and Playstation 3, etc.
My daughter is thinking of moving the computer to the same room the tv is in which means a desk, and other things to take up room.
If the TV can be used as a monitor I can set up the system and maybe in the next few weeks buy a wireless mouse and keyboard to use on it.

I am sure it can be done but my biggest concern is the quality of the video on the display.

What are your thoughts???
Thanks

Video and gaming will be excellent  I have sometimes problems going back to my 24" LCD from my 40" screen :D As everything is just so small :p

However text won't be perfect, the one you read while browsing for example. Subtitles and stuff will be fine though, as they're quite a lot bigger. At least it is that way on my 1080p screen :)

The other big concern is refresh rates while gaming. Most LCD TVs are set at 60hz which translates to roughly a roughly 17 ms refresh rate, not blazing fast. Your best gaming performance would come with something closer to half or even a third of that. If you have a 120hz refresh rate on your lcd, as some more recent models do, then you'll have no problem. Then again sometimes its worth the slower refresh rate to see the game on that big huge screen.

It'll be just fine. Ghosting isn't too apparent even in cheap 32" tv's. Unless she is going to be playing counterstrike competitively, that tv will do just fine.
