LCD turning itself off and on

For a few months now, my SGI 1600SW has been randomly turning off an on, like it lost the video signal briefly. I've connected the system to two other displays (an Apple Cinema display and a Sony CRT) and could not reproduce the problem. Nor does it seem to correlate to the heat.

It will go days sometimes without doing it though, then might do it once every hour or several times back to back.

Any idea what could be causing that? It is incredibly annoying.

It could be that the inverter or power circuit of the LCD is dying out. I recommend having it checked by a technician.

It could also be a bad connector - one with a loose wire at some point.
