LCD-TFT Fault Question?

Hi

I have a 18" lcd-tft monitor and I have noticed one disturbing thing about it...
The color at the bottom is much brighter then the above, if I move a blue window from the top to the bottom, will it gradely turn light blue. The monitor is a sharp ll-t181a and around 2 years old.

Is this a normal problem with older lcd-tft monitors? and what can cause it? high pressure or hard bumps during transport? or manufacturing fault? or just plain ageing?

Is there any forum/mailing list/website where I can find more info about this?

Thanks in advanced.

Maybe the top backlight is starting to give up, making the top darker then the bottom. I'm not really sure if it would result in the problem you mention, just an idea.
