LCD text display quality?

I'm wanting to upgrade from my 17" Trinitron monitor. It's served me well, but it seems like the text is getting slightly fuzzy.. it's beginning to strain my eyes. On the other hand, my 13" laptop LCD screen doesn't hurt my eyes at all... crystal clear text.

First, I'd only be able to afford a 15" LCD if I decided to buy that over a 19" CRT. My price range is $300-$400. All of the LCDs I see on display at compusa, bestbuy, etc have really blurry text. I understand that this is because of the analog connection? Assuming I have a video card with a DVI connection and an LCD with a DVI connection, would I be able to attain laptop LCD quality?

Should I just plan on buying a nice 19" CRT? Space is not an issue at all.. I'm just looking for something easy on my eyes. I've got a thread going on here for suggestions on an excellent 19" CRT. 19" CRT Thread

Thanks!

My wife has done the exact same upgrade. We also noticed blurry text at the stores. We ended up ordering a ViewSonic VG151b from Dell for $350 shipped, this was about 4 months ago. It has the DVI connector and she is currently running it with a Geforce2 MX-200 with DVI. Text is crystal clear, the DVI connection makes all the difference in this case.
