LCD standards

I bought a Dell 1905FP a little while ago but returned it because it didn't have the image quality I needed for games. Recently I got a Princeton vl1918, and the picture quality is excellent and there is virtually no ghosting.

However, the plastic stand it comes with only tilts the monitor and doesn't do much else, which is a far cry from what features Dell monitor stands have. I was wondering, if I waited for another cheap LCD, what are the chances that it will have a good stand with adjustable features?

Also, is the brightness setting on LCDs usually so... unadjustable? There is barely a difference between 0 and 100.

there is a huge diffreence on my sony monitor. i love sony monitors as they are so nice and sharp but they ar expensive (sony always makes good displays). i have the sdm-hs73 and i love it (not much adjustment on the stand but beautiful monitr)
