LCD Shimmering when I scroll??

I just got a Hitachi 175 LCD hooked up to a softmodded 9700. Whenever I use the push the scroll wheel to do auto scroll, the screen shimmers like its having a hard time keeping up. Is this a problem with all lcd's or is there something wrong with mine?

Do you mean a shimmering sound? If yes then my laptop does the same - whenever there is a need for rapid screen refreshing (those annoying animated gif avatars... 😉)

did you install the drivers for the monitor? i had this issue With LCDs and CRTs, installing the monitor driver fixes it and so does reinstalling teh vid card driver

Its not a sound, its just the screen lagging behind. And the monitor shouldn't be ghosting as its a 16ms panel and looks great when I tried UT2K4. I've already reinstalled the vid card drivers but I'll try the monitor drivers

In that case I would also blame the drivers - I get that same effect until I install proper drivers after a fresh Windows installation e.g. it also happens when dragging a window across the screen (not just the outline though).

Tried new drivers and setting the refresh rate at 60 and 75. Still doesn't fix it. Maybe I'm not describing it properly. Its kind of letters are getting stretched out a little bit when I scroll. Is this one of those things that suppose to happen on lcds?

You got ghosting start solitaire and drag a card around. Should notice something similar. Suprised it's so noticeable with a 16ms monitor. I'm using a supposedly 20ms one and I don't notice it that often.
