If it requires a laptop to have the screen tilted in a certain way in order for it to stop flickering/not be dim etc. then what exactly can this problem be attributed to? Like how would I go about fixing the problem? Because my laptop screen and a laptop I'm about to buy on ebay have a similar issue where it would flicker if the screen is tilted in the "right" position..

Sounds like a short somewhere in the wiring of the cable attaching the LCD to the laptop's motherboard, or else inside the screen itself. Finding the actual problem would require some trial and error and work with a continuity tester.

If the "flickering" is a difference in brightness of the backlight and not a flickering of the display itself, then you likely just have a short or a loose connection in the power cord for the back light or the light bulb itself might be loose inside the screen (or it might be on the verge of failing).

Yes I believe it's a difference in brightness as I've never seen the screen go black due to one of these "instances". You seem to know a bit about this, know of any sites where I could learn more about it? I'm assuming I'd have to open up the LCD screen on the laptop to get to the issue? Is this even really possible/feasible?
