LCD Scratches :(

Anyone know of any good products to remove scratches from an LCD screen?

Monitor is a Samsung 215tw, any help would be appreciated!

Car wax is made to make the car shinier, and conceal scratches. I do not recommend using it on an LCD screen.
There are currently, to my knowledge, no substance that can remove scratches from LCDs.
If they are visible even against the image when the screen is on, then they are too deep to easibly be removed.
If they are not visible when the screen is on, then I would suggest ignoring them.

I think that the same mixture used to polish CD scratches may get rid of LCD scratches. However there may be anti-glare coating on the LCD which will be polished off, and that portion of the screen will look different than the rest. I would say just clean the LCD as best you can. I use pre-packaged CRT cleaning wipes, but there are probably better wipes made for LCDs.

I have used the following directions and repaired scratched CDs that were unusable before I polished them:

Yes you are right, the anti-glare coating does not stand up too much punishment. Even the fat on human skin is enough to dissolve it, making stains that is impossible to remove. I have used some water on a piece of papper, then quickly wiped of with a dry piece of papper to clean my LCD. But I do not recommend this. The water leaves permanent marks on the screen. A piece of lint-free cloth, slightly moist, works best in cleaning the screen from dust and other particles that may have become slightly "stuck" on the surface. Just be careful to have the screen off, and do not apply much pressure at all, since that can damage the crystal elements in the screen, leavind dead or stuck pixels.

They are light scratches, just in the anti-glare coating. Only noticeable really if you look closely on a white background. Wish they made the screens a little more durable.

Same here, I rather have a sheet of glass protecting the screen, than the anti-glare coating.
Especially since the CRTs I have had in the past have had a negliable glare, so it can definetly be done.
But I suspect it is a matter of price. Especially since I have seen 30"-40" LCD TVs that have protective glass screen, but they cost a lot more too.
