I have the Dell 1900fp, rated at 60Hz optimum refresh rate at 1280X1024. The comp gave me the option of running it at 72Hz, which i have been for a few months now. Just wondering if this may in anyway shorten the life span o the device or cause any other problems. It looks better at 72Hz is why i am running it at that rate.

The refresh rate of an LCD is restricted by its response time. I imagine the refresh rate you set it to is far above what the response time allows. You have nothing to worry about.

i changed it back to 60Hz, but i think it looks the same, although initially i thought it looked better is why i changed it if i remember correctly. anyhow, i had the "hide refresh rates my monitor cannot display" box checked and it still gives the options of 70 and 72.
