LCD refresh rate question..nm I'm a noob

I just bought my first LCD, a 19" Acer AL1914SMB and have no idea what refresh rate to keep it at. I was using 60Hz but it seemed to be a little hard on my eyes so I upped it to 70Hz and it still looks fine. What is the recommended refresh rate to keep LCDs at?

While the refresh rate doesn't matter for LCDs, if you play games you do want to set it to at least 75 Hz. With VSync enabled your framerate is capped at your refresh rate. For serious gaming you want a higher framerate cap than 60 fps.

However the refresh for 3D modes is not the same refresh as the desktop. There's usually a setting in the advanced properties of the display drivers for the 3D refresh override - otherwise it defaults to 60Hz.

While your at it, don't bother trying to change screen resolution either. I know that wasn't your question, but I thought I'd throw that out there in case you didn't already know.
I'm a big supporter of CRTs, so I take any chance I get to point out any weakness of LCD monitors. 😉 Thanks for that. 🙂

That's okay, 1280x1024 is working alright for me 🙂
