I recently obtained an LCD display pulled from a notebook (HP Omnibook XE3). My question: Is is possibe to connect it to a standard VGA card? I know I have to obtain some sort of converter card, but am at a loss as to where to get one. I've seen ones that drive up to 640x480, but I'd like to get 1024x768. Also I'm not sure if a controller card is compatible with this particular LCD.

If anyone has any insight into this I'd appreciate a reply.

The model # of the LCD is:

Chunghwa
CLAA141XC01

Thanks!

Well, even assuming you find some kind of device that allows you to drive the panel off of a standard VGA connector, you won't have drivers to allow you to control the brightness of the display.

All laptop LCD's use a smaller number of backlights than comparable desktop LCD's in order to save power. So even if you get it going you are likely to have a rather dim screen and you won't be able to adjust the brightness or other parameters at all.
