I have a dell 2405FPW. I love this monitor, but every so often, the screen will just turn black for a second or so and then returns to its previous state.
Does anybody else with 2405 have this problem? Is this something serious? I've had 1800FP and 2 1901FPs before and never had this problem.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Thanks a lot guys!!!

No problems like that here.

I used to get it every so often with my 2005FPW.

What kind of card do you have? If its an nVidia one like I had then I think it might be the proof of nVidia using not as good of DVI transmitters as ATi does. Its a possibility, but I don't know.

I have ATi radeon 9700 pro. Do you think that the problem might actually be in the video card, and not the monitor itself?
I really don't want to spend more money to get a new video card :( I'm already broke from buying the monitor....

Go into your advanced settings. There is a setting called "Use lower bandwidth over high res DVI connections" or something to that effect. Check the box. This is a known issue with dell DVI monitors.

I had that same problem with my benq fp951 19". It got so bad that the screen would stay black until I rebooted, and this forced me to have to use the d-sub instead of dvi :( I don't know why it happens. I think it might be the video card, not having enough power to put up a digital res that high (although on my monitor it uses 1280x1024 which doesn't seem that high, although an mx440 might not be enough.)

Okay, I did just that. Let's see if I still have the problem. I'll post again if I do.
Thanks!!! :)

Hmm it's still doing it.
Actually it just did it about 6 times in a row as I'm typing this.
Any other idea??
