LCD projector recommendation?

I'm looking into LCD projectors for a non-profit group I do some work for. It's a medical organization, so basically we're talking about lots of powerpoint presentations, various kinds of medical images and videos. Looking to spend not more than $4000 I would say.

I don't have too much experience with projectors, but I've managed to latch on to a couple of ideas. It would seem XVGA resolution will be a much better performer than SVGA and that about 1000 ANSI lumens or brighter is a good for presentations with the lights on. That's about all I've come up with and of course there seem to be many, many choices out there and they all seem similar. My questions are: Is there anything else I should take into careful account before deciding on a projector? Any specific recommendations for projectors that have worked well for someone? Any advice appreciated.

How big of a screen are you using? What kind of inputs do you need on it?

Seems ambient lighting control is pretty poor. I'd suggest way more than 1000 ANSI lumens. Depending on your screen size, you may want over 2000.

XGA (1024x768) should be sufficient for your needs. Going up to SXGA (1280x1024) is rather expensive.

Private message me or email me. I've personally gone through about 5 projectors in the last year and a half for my home theater. I can probably find you a good deal for what you need.
