LCD Projection TV suddenly went dim

I posted a few months ago about bulb problems our LCD projection TV had (2 broken within a 2 week period). We got a surge protector, and our problems were gone for a while.

But just yesterday, the image on our TV was extremely dim (not related to connections or TV settings).

Troubleshooting says it's the bulb that need replaced. WTF, they are supposed to last 10,000 hours, and if we replace it, it will be our 4th in 2 years (all of the replacements being withing the past few months).

What's causing all these problems with the TV/bulb? My family is extremely frustrated with the TV and we don't want to spend any more money on it.

Maybe you got a lemon? Some stores have an anti-lemon policy whereby the customer can bring the repeatedly failing product back and get a different model. I'd suggest looking into this if no one here resolves your problem.

Aren't these bulb replacements covered under warranty?

You could also try AVSForum.org--very knowledgeable people there.

Are the bulbs exploding or just dimming?

Did all 4 bulbs exhibit the same problems?

Our original bulb busted (over a year of use)...our replacement busted 2 weeks after we got it...Our newest one has gone for at least a couple months and is now extremely dim (and it looks like its getting worse...sometimes it flickers too). We'll be getting our 4th bulb probably soon, but that will likely crap out as well.

The tv is 2 years old...so I dont think there's any anti-lemon things we could do. We're going to see if its the actual tv, and then possibly fix it.
