LCD problems with black and white video?

I just purchased a new lcd (samsung 226bw) and was watching a black and white video and when the frames shifted there appeared to be lines that moved on the screen. Is this normal with lcds? I had been using my 21" CRT until it died a couple days ago. There doesn't seem to be any problems with color videos, and it only seems to happen when there are vertical shifts in the video. The video I was watching was the new Nine Inch Nails video Survivalism, and it has a lot of black and white shifts up and down and around through different scenes. I am trying to figure out if it is just that video because it is a .mov file, or "the presence" or if it is my monitor. Also I am not really sure how to configure my lcd, it seems to be harder to look at for long periods of time than my crt was... are there any good utilities to configure the lcd?

Hmmm its mpeg or dvd via software player? Try enabling V-sync via your video cards drivers. Set it for global/always on. Ideal anyways for a larger TFT to avoid shearing/tearing/ghosting.

I've watched Sin City HD a few times (its mostly B&W) and it looks great.
