LCD Prices Expected to Drop

I am still wating for them to get the sustainable resopnce time down below the 900 ns level or better. Also I will be waiting to buy my first LCD when they figure out a way to fix the black issue and viewing anlgles to at least a perfect 170° or better. Also they need to get better backlighting and improve the inflexible resolution issue. The one thing I love most about my CRT is the ability to use any resolution as my native resolution with a true black and fast responce time.

You guys realize this kind of article is more for the business analyst/stock analysts more so than techies. News like this will actually take 6 months + to actually see a differance on retail shelfs.

Actually if you correct for atleast vehicle size (civic now bigger than accord 15 years ago), it's atleast flat. When you consider more features/technology also, it's cheaper.

For the last 100 years?

Computer keep increasing in technology but the prices have came down.

Safety is not an valid excuse either.
Name some safety feature reasons why prices keep going up.
Legitimate ones.

It should get less expensive over time.

- More safey items included in lower range cars via trickle down from Halo models
- More technology items included in lower range cars via trickle down from Halo models
- Crash, usability, hot and cold weather testing cars never gets cheaper
- R&D for an object with 20,000+ components such as a car never gets cheaper
- Support infrastructure, such as parts, dealer network, servicing, ongoing safety evals

I could go on, but I can't be arsed.

Agreed. For me the resolution issue alone kills it.

The technology in the cars IS getting cheaper. The raw materials such as metals of course have gotten a lot more expensive. But raw materials aren't technology.

Ayup. I won't buy an LCD until I've got a graphics card that can run at 1280x1024 with everything jacked. My 6600GT just won't do that, so this 21" CRT is the best thing for me.
