LCD panel damage

Short and not so sweet...a computer that had been driving a 17 inch Westy LCD monitor was moved and hooked into an LG HDTV via dsub...all went well, and I set teh resolution to 1360 x 760 or whatever the HDTV needed.

After powering off the computer, disconnecting it from the TV and hooking it back up to the original LCD monitor, it booted and tried to output the 13x7 res to the flat panel.

The panel now displays blurred, fuzzy graphics and text at all resolutions includign the native 12x10.

Is the panel borked for life?

all replies appreciated.

I dont see how moving the computer from one screen to another would have caused damage to the original LCD.

It just doesnt make sense to me.

You didnt change any settings or anything? Did you verify that it is outputing the correct resolution and refresh rate for the Westy? Are you hooking it up via d-sub or DVI?

In theory, if the LCD was very badly designed, trying to output a 'wrong' resolution/refresh could have messed something up. However, this hasn't really been a problem with monitors for about 10 years.

I strongly suspect a configuration problem somewhere. Also, check it on both DVI and VGA.

Something to try?

Check for a bent pin first thing.

Also, check your font smoothing under display properties/appearance and select standard instead of clear type.

For me the fuzziness goes away, but some people prefer clear type.

Thanks for all of the replies and suggestions. The panel works fine now, as crisp as ever.

A days rest seems to have resolved whatever was causing the fuzziness.
