LCD or Plasma?

If I am trying to get a new flat hdtv set should I go for plain lcd or plasma. I am looking at basically only gaming on it. I saw one plasma at walmart for about 600 but is that too cheap to be worth it for plasma? Any recommendations for good quality in the 500-600 dollar range would be great. Thanks.

Well, you gotta pay more for quality. It depends on size etc. I'd go to some stores and look at them. I found I liked LCD screens better than plasma or DLP.

I bought a 46-inch Samsung but spent more to get the next model up for better contrast ratio and refresh rate.

In the end, look for yourself and decide what you would be happy with.

I just bought the 32 inch plasma vizio from walmart and im relatively happy with it so far. My TV blew up in my bedroom and I needed something cheapish to replace it.

HD DVDs and the Xbox 360 look amazing on it..the cheap lcds in my price range ($550) looked washed out and the fact that it had 3 HDMI in sold me on it. Only down side is the 40 inch is only like $220 more..but it was out of my price range.

Almost anything would be better than my old low quality Olevia.

Is there a downside to plasma, like do you need expensive maintenance? Thanks.
