I know I don't a fps problem because my frames are high on any game with all the eye candy turned up, but I feel like I'm a split second behind on everything in Counter Strike: Source, given my system this doesn't make sense and my frames range between 80 - 160 FPS. depending on map action etc...

I have heard that LCD can slow what I'm seeing down because of their response time, my LCD has a response time of 24 ms. So to me that means I'm adding 24 ms to my average ping in any server. Is this true???

Would a CRT be better???
If so what should I look for and are there any 19" crt's that stand out?
My price range is between $100 and $300, $ 200 would be ideal...

No, it means it can't display more than ~42 full frames per second.

Yes but not if your lag is caused by networking problems.

So does a crt get what ever frames the vid card is putting out?
I think I'm going to stay away from lcds for a while.

No, a CRT relies on Refresh rate. the higher the refresh rate the lower the resolution has to be to support it.

1024x768, you'll get about 120Hz refresh, meaning it can display 120fps.

1280x1024, you'll get about 100Hz refresh.

1600x1200, you'll get about 85Hz refresh.

Also, you could try disabling Vsync on your LCD and see if that helps.

Also your monitor is not meant to play, 24ms is a too high response time to play correctly. It is recommended to have a <16ms panel for that use...
