So here is the deal I get $200 from my parents for christmas and I can't decide what to get. Here are my system specs:

XP2700+
512 mb pc2700
120gb wd se 8mb cache
DFI NFII ultra b
Ati radeon 7500
Cd burner and dvd drive
300 watt enermax psu

Now I have decided to get one of these two items:

XFX 6600GT 128MB AGP 8X $215 after buy.com rebate
Dell E173FP 17" LCD Analog 25ms 0.264 mm Pixel Pitch $180 NIB from friend

I really would like to get that video card as my system is majorly lacking in the video department but then again that price on the lcd is like 45% off retail. Slipping into a dell 17" lcd ifor under $200 is pretty hot but is it worth it without having dvi?

It's all very well to have a kick arse graphics card but if you are watching it on a 10 year old 14" CRT with a max 1024x768 @ 60mhz, then it's all a bit pointless

Just as pointless is having a TFT with analog

6600GT , hands down. The screen can wait given you've got a 7500 in there.

What monitor do you have right now?

I'd take a video card as a LCD without DVI is not an LCD.

IT would help if you told us what monitor you currently have. I probally would go with a new video card though.

EDIT: IF that is the case definitely go with the 6600GT

LCD can be had later on for the same price NEW if you can live with analog input only.

The 6600gt is more in my price range and has a working hardware video decoder.
