LCD noob question re: LCD driver

I recently bought my 1st LCD (19" Acer AL1912) and installed it with no problems. WinXP detects it as a "Plug and Play" monitor and it works perfectly. It did not have a driver CD with it and there was no mention of installing a driver. However, on the Acer site, they have a driver dated 5/27/04 for my monitor. Should I install the driver or leave things alone? Would an Acer Driver give me anything extra?

Since a driver was not included with the monitor or mentioned in the installation, I'm assuming it is not needed.

 
I would say the only reason you might have to install it would be if you are running in analog mode. If you are hooked up via DVI then there is little reason to install it, other than to see the name of your monitor in the display properties tab. This does help some sleep better at night.
 
Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking along the same lines as you guys. I DL'd the driver file, renamed the inf to txt to take a looksee and didn't see anything exciting. I'll just leave well enough alone since things are working good. This monitor is Analog input only, driven by an ATI 9800 at native and I can't imagine it looking any better; excellent contrast, brightness, color and no ghosting, shadows, bad pixels etc.. BTW, got this LCD on a newegg 1 day sale for $280 shipped, a great deal.
