Overall I like this monitor but I had to knock off two stars because I use a dual arm monitor mount which is 75x75/100x100mm vesa because it use to hold two 21.6" monitors but this monitor came with a 100x200mm vesa mount which would not have been a big deal as I had adapters laying around but because the holes on the monitor are recessed none of the adapters i had would fit so i ended up having to buy a custom made adapter which was cheaper than buying the samsung adapter but was still a pain to have to hunt down and then wait for.

I do not want to thread crap, but I have some unrelated questions about another possible way to mount a LCD monitor to meet my needs.

To explain, I have a computer desk with a shelf the runs the length of the desk. The shelf is 9 inches above the desk surface, and displaced back 13.5 inches from the front of the desk. If I place a LCD monitor on the top shelf, the monitor is generally too tall to be readily seen, if I place the LCD monitor on the desk top, its somewhat too low, blocks access to the back part of the desktop, and worse yet can't be moved far enough back because of the shelf.

Ideally I would want a side mount that would clamp onto the shelf, to center the monitor at a better viewing height, eliminating the need for a bottom stand, so I could slide my keyboard under the bottom of the monitor and also allow access to the part of the desk top back of the shelf.

Doe such a mount exist?

Post a picture of your desk. Circle where you want to mount it to.

Sorry I am not equipped to post a photo at the preset time, so the description will have to due.

But imagine a horizontal board of infinite length viewed from the narrow edge size rather than as a flat board viewed from my desk. I simply need a mount that clamps to the sides of my LCD monitor that clamps or screws to the top or bottom of the broader end of the top Board.

Sorry, I'm bad at imagining things sometimes. I'm more of a visual guy when it comes to jury rigging things. Is it possible you can email me a pic, doesn't have to be great quality, I just need to know where you want it mounted. Send me a PM if you can do that. Also, there are a lot of public picture hosting web sites. I think some don't require registration either. Barring that, maybe you can find a web pict to use as an illustration.

I'm assuming something like this is not going to work? Look at the part that mounts to the desk. Not the LCD.

I can't find the exact desk on line, but desk would similar.

If I mount the lCD monitor on the top shelf it becomes too tall, so I want something with no bottom stand that allows the bottom of the lCD panel to extend below the top shelf perhaps 4-5 inches which leaves the LCD panel at ideal viewing height and allows me access to under the top shelf storage behind. In short I need to grip the sides if the LCd panel.
