Who plays CSS with a WS monitor ?

Is it better or worse ?

What is browsing like are web pages built for WS ?

Do I see more or less, or is the picture just stretched ?

If I wanted to buy a 21" WS with minimum 8ms response time what would you all recommend ? Budget £300 - £400

Cheers

Not me.

Depends on whether you find a wider field of view better.

No significant number of websites are designed for wide screens. Most aren't even filling the screen at 1024x768. For viewing a single maximized window, a taller screen is better than a wider screen. Widescreen is useful for non-gaming/graphics use if you like to have two windows beside each other, because a large widescreen monitor would let you view two websites side by side that are designed for 768 pixel width without having to scroll left or right.

If your video card supports the widescreen resolution, as most semi-current ones do, then you can fit more on the screen. If you run it in anything less than the native resolution of the monitor, then it will usually be stretched, although you can also make some drivers not stretch it and leave black bars in the unused space.

I personally recommend you don't buy a widescreen unless gaming is very important to you, or you like using other applications with multiple windows visible at once.

I love it on my new widescreen, i think widescreenforums.com has a list of compatible widescreen games and such. I believe most of the newer games have widescreen options and its just like the tv where u can see a little bit more. Dont really have issues with any webpages.

I have a widescreen on my laptop, and regular 4/3's on my desktops. It really doesn't make a lot of difference. The widescreen is great for DVD movies in letterbox format. It is also good for email - in on one side and out on the other with a vertically split screen.

Personal preferences are just that - nothing more, nothing less.

And, FYI, all future replacement monitors for me will be widescreen, and I don't game at all. 🙂
